With an outstanding reputation for dementia support and residential care in Leeds Westward Care have acquired The Cedars Care Home in Methley.

The Cedars is a private care home for older people which has been successfully operating for over 30 years.

Westward Care’s acquisition of The Cedars is based on a partnership approach, with the existing leadership team continuing to oversee the day-to-day management of the current services including its dementia support offer.

Peter Hodkinson, Managing Director of Westward Care, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our services and supporting more older people living with dementia across Leeds and welcoming The Cedars Care Home to our services – and to be welcoming The Cedars staff to our team.

At Westward Care, we pride ourselves on sharing skills and expertise and continuous professional development in order to deliver the best possible service for our residents and their families. So, we are excited about learning from The Cedars team and growing together as a team.”

John Allott, Managing Partner at The Cedars Care Home, said: “I have worked with Peter for many years and have long been inspired and motivated by his innovations in the health and social care sector, so this partnership was the logical next step in our joint dedication to delivering care for older people across Leeds.

While not much will change in the day-to-day life at The Cedars for our residents in the short-term, our staff will now have the opportunity to take advantage of the additional continuous professional development opportunities at Westward Care and share their own learning with their new colleagues at Westward Care so we can continue to improve our care practice for our residents.”
