National Volunteers Week
This week has been National Volunteers Week and we are incredibly lucky to have wonderful volunteers helping to enhance the quality of life for our residents at Headingley Hall.
From our regular flower arranging club and arts and craft activities hosted by Susan to assistance with fundraising events from Mike, we are always well supported by our volunteers who are happy to give their time and energy to making Headingley Hall the wonderful place it is for our residents. Residents always enjoy the games activities hosted by volunteers Yvonne, Kate and Anya who also spend time with residents on a one-on-one basis and assist on trips out.
In honour of National Volunteers Week we would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG thank all our volunteers for their hard work, support and help in making a different to the older people in our community. We would also like to thank our staff members who often give up their own time to assist with resident events and trips.
Volunteering at one of Westward Care’s homes is an excellent opportunity to take an active role in your community by befriending and sharing your interests and hobbies with older people in your community. Just a few hours a week can make a massive difference and could put the skills you already have to good use, this could be an arts and crafts skill, playing chess or even being able to discuss the finer points of the weekend’s football game!
A range of volunteer opportunities are available at Westward Care and for further information on these please contact Rebecca on 0113 331 4836 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
