Before he began a career in care, Gareth spent 15 years working in the restaurant industry, where he eventually progressed to Area Manager.

Although he enjoyed his role he was keen to find a career that was more personally meaningful and fulfilling. Gareth ultimately recognised that care work aligned perfectly with his values and desire to do something genuinely rewarding.

Having joined Westward Care in 2020, Gareth started out as an Outreach Support Worker and worked his way up through senior roles before helping to open Hunslet Moor House and, finally, moving into management. Now Care and Client Services Manager at Southlands Retirement Apartments, Gareth is proud to support the team in always providing the very best person-centred care for residents.
