In Autumn 2024, Preferred Homes will be opening Hunslet Moor House, a new affordable Extra Care location for older people that’s based on Hunslet Hall Road in Beeston. Today, we are pleased to announce that Westward Care will have a key role to play in the offer moving forward.

Westward Care has been recommended as preferred provider of care and support to apartment residents at Hunslet Moor House, which is due to open its doors in October.

In addition to that, Westward Care will manage the Hunslet Moor House cafe, which will be located onsite and open to the public as well as residents. This means that we’re going to be on the lookout for both carers and catering staff - and while the position of the facility’s Care & Support Manager is already open, there will be more Hunslet Moor House job opportunities being announced soon.

Located just a stone’s throw away from Pennington Court Care Home, Hunslet Moor House is a brand new £15 million facility. It will include 63 Extra Care apartments - 51 one-bed and 12 two-bed - as well as a communal lounge area, communal dining area and a patio area that opens to a small private garden.

Preferred Homes is a social housing provider for older people, with its Extra Care housing made for people aged 55 and older for whom the private rental market is out of reach. Extra Care housing offers independent living, but with staff ready around the clock to support where needed.
