Clients, staff and visitors enjoyed a fun seaside themed afternoon.

At the end of August clients, relatives and staff said goodbye to the summer in style with a very special afternoon of seaside themed fun at Pennington Court!

Despite a grey start to the day the sun came out and we were able to have a picnic in the front garden followed by a visit from the ice cream van.  Whilst enjoying our ice creams we were joined by Eli, a 20 year old donkey from the Donkey Sanctuary in Leeds.  The donkeys are always popular visitors to the home with clients enjoying their calm and gentle nature.

After saying goodbye to Eli, we were treated to a fantastic traditional Punch and Judy show performed by Professor Dan Slater before enjoying the a few games of Hook-a-duck and some candy floss.

We will certainly miss the warmer weather but were glad to say goodbye to summer in style and are looking forward to a range of autumnal activities in the home!
"You feel happy when you see people smiling and saying thank you. You feel that emotion and you empathise with them and try to help them. It makes you feel good because you think I'm making a difference to their day."
