Southlands residents Linda and Mick Coy recently led the charge in a fundraising drive for ME Research UK, tallying a total of £250 in donations!

Over the weekend of 11/12 May, Linda and Mick along with staff and other residents at Southlands oversaw a number of events at the apartments in a bid to raise money for charity. In addition to the Blue Tea Party on 12 May, activities included a Family Fortunes quiz, limericks (what with 12 May also being Limerick Day!) and a raffle.

Those who attended were also treated to a blue-themed buffet and refreshments. All staff and residents, along with their family and friends, were invited, and in addition to money raised by the events of the weekend, some generous individual donations also added to the total money raised.

Following the weekend, Linda, who lives with ME, and her husband Mick gave their thanks to all those who lent their support:

“We must add special thanks to Patrick, Margaret and Jean for the help with the planning, ticket sales and of course the delicious scones and mousse, not to forget the help of Lisa and her staff for once again helping to ensure that the day was successful.

“We were humbled by the support given and are proud to say that we have achieved a total donation of £250 which we will be sending off this week.”
"We’d like to think that it is the little things we do every day that make Westward Care so unique."
