Artist Ruth Julian, a resident of Headingley Hall, will see her work go on display at HEART (Headingley Enterprise and Art Centre) in May and June.

Ruth, who was born in Derby in 1933, moved to Plymouth in the 1960s, when she developed a passion for all things creative. A lover of theatre and choral singing, Ruth also took to visual art, and began producing work using paint as well as acrylics, pastels, pencil and felt tip. Now a Headingley resident, Ruth is a frequent visitor to HEART.

Ruth’s show, titled Ruth Julian: A Retrospective, will feature art works that she created mostly in the 1990s. The work will go on display at HEART in the artist’s corridor exhibition space.

"Headingley Hall is a first-class facility. It has the look of a traditional high-class hotel, not a Care Home, the level of appointment of the rooms is second to none and, in the main, the Care Staff are excellent… There is a varied programme of social activities every week and the Social Secretary has also signed Mum up with the local library to receive talking books... Overall, the family is delighted."
