We were delighted to sponsor the Over 90's Open Bowling Competition for the 5th year.

This month Westward Care were delighted to once again sponsor the ‘Jack Barstow Over 90’s Open Bowling Competition’ held at North Leeds Bowling Club in Roundhay.

Competitors and spectators were treated to an afternoon of highly competitive bowling in the fabulous sunshine whilst the 17 competitors, ranging in ages 90 to 95, were whittled down to the final four. After a tense final Jim Hobson took the title of 2019 champion.

Refreshments were provided by the NLBC club members who, as always, had created a delicious buffet and baked gorgeous cakes to be enjoyed by spectators, competitors, referees and helpers.

Peter Hodkinson, Managing Director of Westward Care, was on hand to present the prizes to the competitors and commented on how wonderful it was to see how well the competition was supported by the local community.

This was the 5th year Westward Care sponsored this event and we are delighted to be continuing our sponsorship of NLBC through to 2021 and look forward to helping celebrate their centenary during this period.

The committee and club members provide such a warm and friendly welcome to members, supporters and visitors alike. As we saw today, age is definitely no barrier in this sport and we would encourage people of all ages to pop along to the club and find out how they could join and begin playing!
