Congratulations to our first Nurse Associate, Helen Bray who graduated from Leeds Beckett University this month.

Westward Care are highly committed to supporting employees to fulfil their aspirations surrounding their career in care. We were the first and only independent care provider in Yorkshire to take part in the pilot Government’s new Nursing Associate Programme.

Working alongside healthcare support workers and fully qualified nurses the opportunity enables care workers to develop a higher skill-set to assist, support and complement the care given by registered nurses and focus on patient care. The further education and training takes place across 2 days per week over a 2-year period.

On completion of the course Helen now has an extended role in the care of our nursing clients and can offer increased support and assistance to the nursing team.
