Like every year, 8 August marked International Cat Day earlier this month, and at The Cedars we thought we'd celebrate the day with something a bit special. At some point in their lives, many of the residents at The Cedars have previously owned cats - which gave us the idea to introduce an interactive cat to the home for everyone to enjoy.
Interactive cats or companion cats are made to look, feel and sound like real cats, only they don't need to be fed or cleaned after. Designed to replicate the connection and companionship given by real pets, interactive cats even respond to petting by purring and moving.
Having spent some time with their new pet, which amazed many of the residents with its lifelike qualities, the residents set about deciding what to call the cat. After much discussion, and with many names put forward, the residents settled on the name Bubbles.
Because we thought one cat wasn't enough for International Cat Day, Cedars residents were also paid a visit by Cedars Deputy Manager Sarah's cat Amber. All in all, it was a purrrfect day!
