Westward Care staff have cast their votes to name our latest employees of the month, and we can now reveal the five more-than-deserving winners for March.

A senior carer at The Cedars, Megan Filburn last month received multiple nominations from colleagues, who described her as "hardworking", "dedicated" and "a pleasure to work with". One colleague wrote that Megan "goes a long way to make sure our residents are looked after with respect and dignity. She builds genuine relationships with residents and is a credit to The Cedars."

A member of the reception team at Headingley Hall, Sarah Wedlinscky was named the home's Employee of the Month in March for "always [going] above and beyond", even helping out in "other services where needed". One of Sarah's colleagues wrote: “She is the first impression of the home when you come in and she always makes it sparkle.”

Michael Hannam, maintenance operative at Pennington Court, received the most Employee of the Month nominations for the home in March. Described as "consistently helpful and always a delight to work with", Michael was singled out in particular for his "exceptional efforts" in preparing for a recent fire inspection, which "resulted in a very positive reflection of the home".

Senior support worker Amanda Tomlinson was named Hunslet Moor House's Employee of the Month in March for her supportive attitude towards her colleagues, with one writing that "Amanda knows her job inside and out and always has the time to listen to any concerns I may have and is always willing to help". This month, Amanda just pipped to the post Hunslet Moor House senior care assistant Vicky Pickersgill, who also received multiple nominations.

Last but not least, Sales & Business Development Executive Cathie Reuben was named Westward Care head office's Employee of the Month in March "for her outstanding approach to sales and driving up occupancy levels", and for being "always focused on achieving the best outcome for the person moving to Westward Care".

Congratulations to our March winners, and as always thank you to all Westward Care employees for all their hard work.
"I love my job - I think it's important when working in care to not look at it like a job - it's my passion."
