Headingley Hall and Southlands gardens awarded Gold at Leeds in Bloom

We are delighted that this month the gardens at both Headingley Hall and Southlands have been recognised as Gold Medal Winners in the Leeds in Bloom ‘Business and Communities’ competition.  Headingley Hall have been Gold Medal winners every year since 2011 whilst this is the third consecutive win for Southlands.

The Leeds in Bloom competition encourages both residents and businesses to make Leeds a more vibrant, colourful and attractive city for both residents and visitors with judges from Leeds City Council look for originality, variety of plants and visual impact when judging.  These are of course only a few of the items judges are looking for and they made an unannounced visit to enjoy a walk around the gardens whilst completing their judging sheet.  Along with assessing the overall condition and maintenance of the area, they also consider any environmental difficulties which have been overcome and complete their judging in complete secrecy .

The beautiful gardens at all three Westward Care sites are maintained and designed by Angela Muskin and her fantastic team at Just Beautiful Gardens and are a wonderful area for our residents, and their relatives, to enjoy in any weather.  We’d like to send our congratulations to Angela and her team on another fantastic win!

We’d also like to say a big thank you to our residents Gardening Club at Southlands for their input into their award winning garden!
