Over the past year, therapeutic poet Chris Meredith has been hosting monthly Zoom sessions with our residents at Headingley Hall.

The residents have hugely enjoyed the sessions, which involve Chris sharing poems with the group and opening up a discussion about them.

In Chris’s last session, to celebrate the experience he had shared with our residents, he asked the residents their favourite thing about Headingley Hall. Chris took their words, memories and reflections and created this beautiful poem – which we’re thrilled to share with you.

Headingley Hall is a home for care
Looking after the residents there
Kind, caring and approachable staff
They make us smile; they make us laugh
-
A beautiful garden with flowers and shrubs
They serve us with delicious grub
They even have a vegetarian menu
Headingley Hall is such a wonderful venue
-
Poetry reading, baking, arts, and crafts
Only describes a fraction of our happy tasks
For anyone thinking of joining us at Headingley Hall
You will have a wonderful time and have a ball!
"Since my uncle moved into Headingley Hall he has been very happy. He finds he is able to be friendly with, and chat with the other residents, he doesn't feel lonely. He is well looked after, with the staff all taking an interest in his physical and mental care. He has been able to move some of his books and other belongings into his room, so making it feel more like home. I am certainly very happy that he made the decision to move into Headingley Hall."
