Happy Nurses Day 2019!

This week we have been giving out 'thank you goody bags' to all the employed and visiting nurses working with Westward Care - including a Westward Care cupcake to enjoy on a rare break!

12 May 2019 marks International Nurses Day and around the world people are celebrating the contribution nursing makes to people's health and wellbeing. It is also the day where people commemorate the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

At Westward Care we cannot put into words the value the nursing staff bring to or residents's lives. From nurses employed and working directly for Westward Care at Pennington Court through to the District Nurses, Practice Nurses and Community Matrons who visit people at all our locations - we want to say a big thank you for your care, dedication and support.

Nurses often visit our residents in our residential environments , particularly when people have more complex physical care needs and alongside out internal team they work together to ensure the health and happiness is well-looked after.

The goody bags went down well:
"Thank you so much for the gorgeous little goodie bags! What a lovely surprise that was!
Thank you to all at Headingley Hall for always being so fantastic – myself and the team absolutely love working with you all."

Amy Robertson, District Nurse, Woodsley Neighbourhood Team

And thank you to all our nursing family!
"The staff at Westward Care clearly love their jobs and the residents. It is evident that they go above and beyond for the people in their care."
