In a month that saw Easter spirit bring joy to residents at Westward Care, staff members celebrated those who best represented the Westward Care company values by naming six colleagues the latest star employees.

April’s employee of the month for Headingley Hall was a tie, with Charlie Render and Fatameh Pirsalami being named the month’s joint winners. Care Manager Charlie was nominated due to her constant demonstration of an exceptional level of knowledge about the clients she supports, ensuring their needs are understood and met with the highest standard of care. During a recent inspection, Charlie’s contribution was invaluable, with her preparation, attention to detail and calm professionalism playing a key role in supporting the team throughout the process.

Fatameh’s colleagues were aware that she had been through a lot recently in her personal life, but that despite this she continued to provide excellent person-centred care and show kindness and respect to residents and staff in April, going above and beyond in her role as always. Fatameh was named an April employee of the month having twice been a runner-up previously.

At Hunslet Moor House, the April employee of the month certificate went to Brianna Sellers, who was nominated for her excellent customer service and great attitude, and for her always helping clients when required.

Having already been named an employee of the month back in December 2024, Mousmi Ram was again voted the Pennington Court employee of the month in April. Kind, supportive, and always working to the best of her ability, Mousmi treats residents, visitors and colleagues with respect and professionalism, creating a positive and welcoming environment. Taking pride in her work and ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard, Mousmi consistently demonstrates the Westward Care values in her daily practice.

At Southlands, the employee of the month certificate winner in April was Elona Robara, making this Elona’s second win after colleagues also named her employee of the month in April last year. Elona’s colleagues said that she is always committed to providing person-centred care, and always willing to go above and beyond.

Finally, employee of the month at The Cedars in April was Lucy Nyamekye, who received multiple nominations from colleagues. They cited Lucy’s fantastic teamwork and work ethic, as well as the respect she shows to both her colleagues and residents. Colleagues also felt that Lucy delivers compassionate care to clients whilst always making tasks fun and easy.

Thank you as always to the Westward Care staff members who cast votes for their employees of the month, and congratulations to Charlie, Fatameh, Brianna, Mousmi, Elona and Lucy for being singled out as exemplary employees in April.
"The staff at Westward Care clearly love their jobs and the residents. It is evident that they go above and beyond for the people in their care."
