As we approach the end of another month, we're pleased to name the seven Westward Care employees who joined our Employee of the Month club in April!

Headingley @ Home's Susan Dean won her employee of the month certificate for being so reliably helpful, with one of her team members saying she was "always there for the team" and "great with all the staff and clients". Headingley Hall Head of Housekeeping Tom Randles, meanwhile, was voted employee of the month by his colleagues for being "kind and patient and willing to help anyone at any time". One colleague noted that, in spite of Tom only having been at Headingley Hall for a short period of time, he had already "made a great impression on us all".

Over at Hunslet Moor House, senior care assistant Vicky Pickersgill was voted employee of the month in April for her "good work ethic" and for always being "really friendly and welcoming".

Gail Goodall, of the Pennington Court housekeeping team, was named the home's employee of the month, and was given a glowing review by one colleague, who said: "Gail is amazing with our residents and I feel warmed to witness such a genuine level of unquestionable empathy and compassion. If we had more people in the care sector like Gail, the world would be a kinder place."

At Southlands, Elona Rovora was voted employee of the month for April, with one team member writing that they voted for Elona because she is so welcoming, and because she's always there "to help out any shift needs covering".

The Cedars named two employees of the month in April: kitchen staff members Dot Blezard and Joan Milner, who together "stepped up on short notice to cover paternity leave" and "worked hard to provide a consistent service to residents, especially those with special diets". They were, said one voter, "an amazing little team in the kitchen".

Thank you, as ever, to everyone who voted, and to all Westward Care staff for reliably being the best at what they do.
"You just feel accomplished - I absolutely love my job. To us, it is nothing, but to our residents it is such a big thing when you do something little like make their bed or do a bit of dusting for them."
