Sing loud and proud!

At Westward Care we like to book a variety of activities and experiences for our residents. After last year's Whistle Stop Opera visting Headingley Hall residents loved it so much we invited Opera North back.

This year, Opera North, England’s Leeds-based national opera company and one of Europe’s leading arts organisations, have been commissioned to visit all three of our locations, three times each in September.

The company's Lifelong Learning strand provides inspirational arts activities for adults of all ages, led by professional artists, in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Vocal delivery artists and accompanists from Opera North have been visiting Westward Care locations on a regular basis to run singing workshops. These give clients an opportunity to hone their musical skills while experiencing the pleasure of singing as part of a group.

Peter Hodkinson, Managing Director of Westward Care, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer all of our residents this unique and rich singing experience. We pride ourselves on the innovative and tailored activities we provide in all our facilities.”

"When mum moved to Headingley Hall it took such a weight off my mind. These days, I visit mum to catch up, rather than check-up."
