Headingley Hall was delighted with the recent visit of the year two children from Rose Court School, along with their music teacher, Mrs Turner, and other staff members.

April the 2nd was a beautiful day full of sunshine. The children arrived in the morning to entertain the residents with a lovely programme of cheerful songs about Mother’s Day, spring and Easter.

Mrs Turner played the piano with several of the children playing ocarinas as an accompaniment. With songs such as “Oh I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside” the residents soon joined in enthusiastically!

At the end of their performance the residents had the pleasure of the children’s company as everyone enjoyed refreshments outside in the spring weather.

The children are to visit again in June as part of the NAPA ‘Music in the Air’ Week which aims to provide the residents with a range of musical experiences.

The children will perform old fashioned ‘sing-a-long’ songs for the residents to interact with and the ‘hand-chime’ group will provide a workshop activity under the guidance of Mrs Turner to allow the residents to ‘have a go.’
