Quarterly Recognition Award

This quarter’s Recognition Award was won by Carole Simpson, the dedicated Catering Manager at Pennington Court.

Carole began as a kitchen assistant in 2003, becoming Catering Manager in 2007. She was nominated twice for the last award and five times for this one by relatives, colleagues and residents.

The criterion for the award is ‘going the extra mile;’ a resident nominated her for ‘always going a mile and a half!’ She is known for providing the residents with new menus and special food treats, which she often buys herself. On her days off she accompanies the residents on trips. Nothing is too much trouble. For the last two years the environmental rating has maintained five stars.

Runner up for the award is Lizzie Shamyaria, also from Pennington, a nurse whose kindness and care are second to none.

Like Carole she gives generously of her own time and always has a smile.
