Second Chef – Southlands

Job Title:  Second Chef

Based at:  Southlands

Hours of work:  30 hours per week

Pay Scale:  Competitive rate

Annual Leave Entitlement:  The annual leave year runs from 1st April to 31st March following. The full entitlement is 5.6 weeks (inclusive of Bank Holidays) for a full year and pro rata for an incomplete year’s service. Annual leave is restricted for all staff over the Christmas / New Year period

Westward Care are currently looking to recruit a Second Chef based at Southlands Care Home & Apartments in Roundhay.  Westward Care provide award-winning care and support for clients on a daily basis and you will be required to work closely with the Head Chef, Managers, Deputy Managers and care staff to develop menus accommodating a range of dietetic needs.

This role works on a shift basis, rostered to 30 hours per week.   Excellent rate of pay, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Our kitchens and catering departments are fully equipped and the successful candidate will be passionate about the preparation, cooking and service of fresh foods, many sourced locally from carefully selected suppliers.  The role will involve homemade bakery items, snacks and deserts in addition to main meals throughout the day. You will be required to work autonomously on shift and in collaboration with clients, managers and care staff. We provide services under the guidance of the Care Quality Commission and as such you will follow these guidelines.
