Residents Forum at Headingley Hall
Our quarterly Residents Forum was recently held at Headingley Hall and was well attended as always.
Following the previous forum Sharon, General Manager, was happy to update clients that larger pot plants with shrubs are to be added to the Courtyard to enhance this area for clients. Sharon also reminded clients of the ‘Champion Scheme’ where individual staff members promote and share best practice in a specific area and updated clients that Religious & Cultural Champions had recently been added. As a result of this we are looking forward to celebrating further different traditions & beliefs and clients are also looking forward to linking this with our popular ‘History Club’.
Regarding social activities, we are happy to advise that our new Social Activity Assistant, Helena, will be starting at Headingley Hall this month and that Christmas events have now been confirmed. We are also hosting an Autumn Craft Fayre which will take place in mid-November and will give clients an opportunity to support local crafters whilst doing some Christmas shopping!
A client raised concern regarding plastic use, having recently watched a documentary regarding the amount of plastic in our rivers and seas, and Sharon advised that Headingley Hall has recycling bins on site in addition to a Recycling Champion. It was acknowledged that there is always room for improvement and Sharon will be looking into changing plastic straws for paper ones and reducing the use of plastic cups.
In addition to the forum held, one to one meetings are also held on a separate date to ensure that all clients who wish to be involved have the opportunity to do so. The Residents Forum give our clients and their relatives an opportunity to give feedback on the care and services provided and encourage clients and relatives to be involved in shaping future service development.
Residents Forums are held at all Care Homes and Apartments across Westward Care and are an integral part of ensuring we offer the best care and services to all our clients. We would like to thank everyone for their participation and feedback!
