National Citizen Service Project at Headingley Hall
The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a voluntary personal and social development programme for 15-17 year olds in England and recently, we were delighted to be joined at Headingley Hall by young people from the community to create a “wishing well” for our residents.
After an initial session to discuss ideas and construction, Team Jackman for NCS worked industriously to create a beautiful wishing well for us.
Residents will be given the opportunity to choose a wish of their own and we will aim to fulfil that wish! They may choose an activity that they’ve always wanted to try, a pastime they used to or still enjoy, or perhaps something that resonated with them in the past. It may be something as simple as going to a favourite restaurant or something more exotic, such as going to Hawaii, in which case, we will bring Hawaii into the home for the resident!
Suzanne, Activities Co-ordinator is looking forward to helping our residents have their wishes granted and during the course of the year, the Wishing Well will ensure that residents receive something special and personal to them, with wishes continuing throughout their time at the home. What an amazing concept!
