Bake-off Star to put the Icing on the Community Cake
Headingley Hall is set to host a community open day on Friday 16th June featuring live music, games, history talks and a baking demonstration from former Great British Bake Off (GBBO) contestant, Sandy Docherty.
The Community Open Day will open with a singing performance by Rose Court Primary School before local historian and author Eveleigh Bradford will be giving a talk on the history and heritage of Headingley and the surrounding communities. The baking demonstration with former GBBO contestant Sandy Docherty will take place before she hosts a Q&A session.
Speaking about the planned Community Open Day, Peter Hodkinson, managing director of Westward Care, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our doors to the public, we pride ourselves on not only the sense of community we encourage and cultivate within Headingley Hall itself, but the impact that our staff and our residents have on our neighbours. We feel that maintaining a sense of community is a very important part of the work we do at Westward Care and these events are not only a fantastic way to showcase the beauty of Headingley Hall and it’s gardens.”
Westward Care’s two other locations, Southlands in Rounday and Pennington Court, Beeston will also be hosting their own activities as part of the community initiative.
